I LOVED this thing UNTIL......

So much easier than off-loading hot soup into a food processor or a blender. Very simple to use, makes pots of carrot soup, potato soup, zucchini soup (you get the idea) faster and with less mess than I had thought possible. HOWEVER, IT BECAME UNUSEABLE AFTER ABOUT 7 USES. THE PLASTIC DISK BEHIND THE BLADE CAME LOOSE. IT SLIDES DOWN THE STEM AND GETS IN THE WAY OF THE BLADE, BECOMING A LITTLE MORE TATTERED WITH EACH USE. I just hope that I have made at least $50.00 worth of wonderful soup and that my family hasn't gotten a wierd disease from ingesting small chunks of grey plastic. I am editing my previous review but Amazon won't let me change the number of stars from 5 to 2.

Wow, incredible product

I used my new Kitchenaid immersion blender for the first time today. Compared to my other major name brand blender this one is superior in every aspect. Power, size, ease of use and durability. As a former chef and still loving the kitchen, I am in total awe of how incredible this product performed. The attachments that were included for the price is fantastic. Delivered prior to my expected date as well. Kudos.

Finally, a hand blender that doesn't suck.

I am a Kitchenaid fan from now on. This blender is killer. Much better than the other two I tried. Even chops ice well. And best of all, it doesn't break or spew rotten drink out later from the inside. I think I've had it 3 or 4 years now. Excellent purchase. Now, would the Ultimate Chopper fill a niche for me...?

Highly reliable and powerful

This hand blender is great...my previous one just sat in the cabinet all the time because it wasn't at all efficient. This one is worth the price for the power it provides; it purees soup like a dream. The sealable blending container it comes with is very handy as well.

This has the usual KitchenAid high quality we've come to expect. Sure, the specs were given, but without getting out a ruler or tape measure I wasn't able to correctly picture the size of this mixer in my mind. It is quite large, especially when compared to the Braun I was replacing, making the KitcheAide a bit large and "unwieldy" to use. It surely does the job, and the variable speeds are great. It's a fine product!
